Pasa
Mansion which is one of the most
beautiful samples of traditional Turkish House Architecture and
wooden art; has 3 floors of 180 m2 each and a rectangular shaped plan. Pasa
House is located at the winter part of the city called "Carsi" where
the trade and cultural buildings concentrate.
Filled
with all the details of
Ottoman-Turkish family life; the house has two seperate entrances
one leads to "Selamlık" and the other to"Harem". The house is symmetric
with the exception of the wall which forms the street side of the
house. A barn, a vault room where valuables are kept and
stone stairs makes the living area of the ground floor called "hayat" ,
which means life,
very functonal.
The plan that forms the most magnificent
part of a Turkish House is upstairs.
Harem and Selamlık parts has the same
shape and functione.
The roof that forms the house's fifth
side is covered with 4 sided tiles. Eaves of the house are made wide
to protect the building from moisture.
The garden between the
high
walls surrounds the house from 4 sides on two levels. There are
one tapped fountain made of cut stone, boiler furnace beside it and
stone paved area in front of it, laundry room, water tank in this
multi-functional garden. The old barn outside is used as a kitchen.
This
house is renovated by Safranbolu
Tourism and Culture Investment Co. as a boutique hotel and a
restaurant same as its original with 10 bedrooms, cafeteria, central
heating, bathrooms. Restaurant serves to the customers both indoors and outdoors.
